As the end of 2010 International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) World Cup South Africa, four-year waiting, perseverance and struggle are all worth our effort at the moment when the Spanish football team players holding the trophy. Looking back, all the glorious games together with the stunning goals are still clearly in view, which can stir up our passion and enthusiasm. FIFA World Cup, the representative of the best games in the world football circle, is the highest level of competition. Every national football team represents its level. The features of tactics and moves presented in World Cup South Africa games predict the direction of modern football to a certain extent. In modern football games, solid defense as the guiding ideology of offense and defense has become the basic strategy. With the development of modern football, football teams are more and more score-oriented, resulting in that the football players and their team make great efforts to enforce their defensive ability. Due to the improvement of the whole teams'defense, it is harder and harder for the players to shoot a goal, and the aggressive fight of their defense leads to the increasing fouls. Meanwhile, Michael Dehuhe, the president of FIFA Medical Committee, appeals for"severe punishment for cynical fouls in the sport and enhancement of protecting the players"before 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa started, and he provides plenty of guidance and warnings for the referees to intensify legislation and its implementation, which leads to more-than-two-thousand fouls occurring in this World Cup games.Based on the methods of literature studies, video observation, experts interview, statistical and logical analyses, this thesis aims to analyze the offensive tactics of forecourt place kicks in the 64 games of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, investigate their features and development tendency, and finally provide some effective implications and theoretical bases for the development of Chinese football. The following are the major findings of this thesis.Firstly, using place kicks to offend is effective, and thus to make place kicks is still the most important means of scoring. All the exceedingly-scored teams rely on place kicks, and the promoted teams'strength on place kicks reveals that whether a team can do well in its offensive tactics of making place kick or not is closely related to the team's strength.Secondly, with the development of the offensive tactics of forecourt place kicks, football teams from all over the world have become aware of the importance of defending forecourt place kicks. So, in turn, the defensive tactics of forecourt place kicks have also been enhanced, which actually makes the players score even harder, and that's also the reason why scoring through forecourt place kicks is generally declined in this World Cup sport.Thirdly, scoring through the offensive tactics of forecourt place kicks especially forecourt free kicks is the main tendency in the first half, and in the last 30 minutes of the second half, corners and penalty kicks are the chief means.Fourthly, forecourt free kick is one of the most important means of place kicks offense. The offensive tactic of move-around-the-ball together with middle-way-insert and the cooperation of the offensive players (using crisscrossing run to make space) are the shining points of forecourt place kicks tactic in this World Cup. In the cooperation of free kick, the team's cooperation can not only make the free thrower perform excellently, but also can help to break through the opponents'defense and directly score.Lastly, for the 15 penalty kicks in this World Cup, most free throwers choose the backfield and midfield to shoot, rather than the downfield. It is also found that the number of throw-in places the first, and more specifically speaking, most of the short-distance throw-in can be quickly played to offend whereas the long-distance throw-in has more power to threaten the opponent's goal. Every team has their distinct features when making throw-in. In this World Cup sport, one goal is shot via making throw-in, and as a matter of fact, the offensive tactic of making throw-in has drawn more and more attention.
