Pronunciation is an essential part of language and the base of language communication as well. Having a good command of pronunciation is not only the need of English language communication but the pre-condition of learning English well. With the development and popularization of the communication approach, people begin to highlight the importance of English pronunciation in language teaching, especially in the normal school, phonetics teaching is the topmost. With booming development of information and technology, the possibility of combining the pronunciation teaching with information and technology has been provided.In this thesis, the author analyzed the current situation of English phonetics teaching and the use of information and technology in it. At the very beginning of this thesis, the author retrospect the development of phonetics teaching in foreign countries and analyses the present situation of English phonetics teaching in junior high school at home,1. Phonetics teaching in primary school and middle school faults, so the phonetic teaching is in quandary.2. Junior high school textbook sound system arrangement is loose, phonetics teaching is indecisive.3. Phonetics tests are canceled in entrance examination for high school and it makes the phonetics teaching not to study further or deeper.4. Teachers' speech accomplishment is poor, and speech classroom teaching is limited. Meanwhile, the author also expounds the significance of integrative of phonetics teaching with information technology, and puts forward the principles of phonetics teaching and information technology. For instance,1. Principle of interest.2. Principle of direct observation.3. Principle of Easy operation.4. Principle of timely incentive feedback.5. Principle of the combining with the games and learning. Finally, the strategies of phonetics teaching under the situation of information and technology are provided as well.1. To combine the "Concentrated teaching" with "Repeated training" through the using of information technology.2. To combine the phonetics teaching with spelling teaching and words teaching through the using of information technology.3. To combine the tone and rhythm teaching with reading and reciting and sense of language training. The author also explores some effective teaching methods for pronunciation teaching,1. To listen to imitate method. 2. Tongue twisters method.3. Jazz chants.4. Crazy English "three-most oral cavity muscle training method" 5. Learn how to sing English songs.6.Film dubbing.
