Influencing Factors Of University Technology Transfer Based On Interface Theory

University technology transfer is an important part of the National Innovation System, It has a positive practical significance to strengthen university technology transfer. This paper takes university technology transfer for study. Empirical research on the factors of affecting university technology transfer was conducted based on the interface theory. Technology transfer was such processes and activities that contains all the technology and knowledge migration, which are different from scientific and technological achievements transform, technology diffusion, technology dissemination. University technology transfer's technical output side is university.On the basis of the literature research, this paper conducts a comparision analysis of the characteristics of university technology transfer in the United States and other countries and regions, and depicts the basic situation of China's researches and practice on university technology transfer. Interface theory was introduced into the field of university technology transfer. In accordance with the time that university gets involved in and out of technology transfer, the paper creatively classifies the university technology transfer into order-type, full-type, results-type and extended-type, puts forward 8 hypothesis about factors affecting university technology transfer performance, and proposes 5 dimensions of university technology transfer performance evaluating. A questionnaire survey was conducted among university researchers for empirical research. Using factor analysis and correlation analysis methods, we drew the conclusion that university technology transfer's performance was positively correlate with the factors including local policy environment, the economic level of university's location, the area's culture of innovation and the degree of importance, advancement and management of technology; partially validated the impact of the university research team and the enterprises'absorbing ability on university technology transfer performance; indirectly verified the positive effect of intellectual property protection on university technology transfer and denied the positive role of "technical potential difference" on university technology transfer. Though failed to verify the impact of different types of interface on university technology transfer, we have formed an effective indicator to evaluate university technology transfer performance.Facing the problems still existing in university technology transfer, such as resources not being fully exploited, lack of support systems and incentives, the paper gives some proposals to strengthen and improve the university technology transfer from four levels: the state or local governments, universities, university researchers and university technology transfer itself .
