Traditional Tribal Organizations In The Process Of Political Modernization In Tibetan Areas

This paper applied several relative theories from political science, sociology, political anthropology, and Tibetan study; comprehensively adopted the researching methods such as literature research, case studies, fieldworks and other research methods; made the Tongren County in Qinghai Province as an example; mainly concerned to the traditional tribal organizations and its modern transformnation; fully learnt from the early works about this topic and researchers'own understanding over local culture; combined with a large number of field survey and data. Firstly, made a brief review on the traditional tribal organization in TongrenCountyand its composition system in the early time. Then put it into the background of the modernization of traditional political structure, from the modern transformation of social structure, social relations, social function,analyzedthe transformation of the status quo of traditional tribal organizations; checked both positive and negative effects of traditional tribal organizations on local political modernization and its reasons. Finally, proposed the significances and practical methods to managing Tibetan traditional tribal organizations under the new situation.
