The wireless sensor develops rapidly since its wide range of applications, low cost, low power consumption, and automated network management and high degree of coordination, and so on. With the deepening of the research on sensor network and the promotion of application, the reliability of sensor network and routing optimization technology have become the focus.This paper has made the research on the reliability and routing optimization for sensor network. The article has summarized the shortcomings of the previous works, and made some research and exploration. The main works of the author have been laid down:1. The resent development of wireless sensor network is expounded. The characteristics, applications and research of the sensor network are analyzed in detail。2. Based on the reliability research of other wireless networks, we propose a new algorithm in calculating the reliability of sensor networks. The algorithm generates fewer items and makes the calculation simply. Finally, the example and complexity analysis demonstrate the feasibility of the algorithm.3. According to the characteristic of lack of balance in energy using in sensor network, analysis of its topological structure, the establishment of network routing model and the basic principles of general genetic algorithm, a routing optimization method for wireless sensor network that based on multi-objective genetic algorithm is proposed. Finally, the experimental simulation shows the feasibility of the algorithm.4. Finally, the paper indicates that the direction of future research and the work need to be further studied.
