In modern daily life, people are so closely with the community that we can’t beseparated. It means that people more and more depending on the kinds of serviceswhich the society provides to us. When people began to identify willing to acceptcertain services, the phenomenon of waiting in line to receive services will arise dueto the limited number of service agencies and service providers, coupled with a largernumber of customers need to accept the service. So, people waiting in line reallymakes common. Queuing problem, however, does give the people’s daily lives andwork, have brought a lot of distress and trouble. Queues everywhere makes peoplespend too much time and effort waiting for the service, could have been avoided orreduced. The phenomenon of waiting in line not only spend too much customer’s time, but also have adverse effect on the services provided agencies, which the customersare more likely to degrade come lose patience, leave and won’t come back, thenresulting in customer source is lost and the loss of the services’ effectiveness.Nowadays, with the development and expansion of computer networks, communications and network technology, they also have the same problem, which alarge number of data queues. And this gives us more inconvenience.Faced with so many queuing problems which bring so many adverse effects on ourlives, we need to find out effective ways to solve various types of queuing problems. This papers focus on the queuing problems of the computer network technology, communication network technology, the field of transportation, restaurant services, banking services and hospital services. Based on the previous research, the papersanalyzed and summarized the respective characteristics of the queuing system in eachthe above mentioned category. And according to themselves characteristics, it appliedsome methods of queuing theory for each. Because the queuing problems covering awide field and some of them are complexity, sometimes, queuing theory can’t solvevery well. Therefore the papers also put forward the other mathematical methods tosolve them, which could use alone, or combination with the queuing theory. At last, the papers give an example which using queuing theory to optimize supermarketcheckouts.
