Plateau Atmospheric Heat Source Influence ’strong Signal’ From SST And Their Associated Structure

We analyzed and explored the relationship between the Tibet plateau heat source in the early spring and the sea surface temperature (SST) in the prior winter,which based on the data of NCEP/NCAR monthly reanalysis from1951to2007, and NOAA’s extended reconstruction SST data (ERSST.v3b). The methods used in this study include standardized index calculation, abnormal years synthesis and statistic analysis. The study shows that there are two areas in the north Pacific Ocean, in which the SST in the previous winter has remarkable correlation with the heat source on the plateau in early spring. One is region A which located in the North Eastern Pacific with the positive relation, another is region B with the negative relation. Meanwhile, The persistent correlation between SST in the previous winter and the heat source at the time from March was analyzed, it was found that the variation of SST in the prior winter in both region A and B has some prediction skill for the Tibet plateau heat source in spring. Separately, three areas are compared in statistical anomalies, and show the positive and negative abnormal SST and heat source with the same change trend.The analysis found that, whether in is abnormal years or negative abnormal years, the anomaly change between SST and the heat source always behaved relatively the same changing tendency, the average percentage of the same year at around70%.By means of the abnormal synthesis, it reveals the abnormal characteristics of atmospheric heat source and wind field vertical structure which corresponds abnormal years of pre-winter sea temperature in strong signal areas. This paper uses conventional materials of national753stations, and analysis the east China’s summer precipitation and north Pacific SST winter in method of EOF analysis, and analysis precipitation area A and B corresponding good modal of time sequence and the rainfall correlation.The further study indicates the characteristics of the late summer500hPa height field type and its water vapor transport vector related with previous winter SST in Yangtze rainy years.
