Based on the201stations’daily winter temperature data without the influence of meteorological station relocation in china during1960-2009, NCEP/NCAR monthly mean reanalysis data and NOAA reconstruction sea surface temperature data, the Variation Characteristics of Winter Temperature in China and their relationship with atmospheric circulation and SST are analyzed. Results show that:(1) During1960-2009, Chinese winter average, maximum and minimum temperature’s and winter warm night frequency, warm daytime frequency, cold night frequency and cold daytime frequency’s first EOF has an identical signal in whole China. The standardized time coefficients tell us that the three kinds of temperature and the warm extreme index are all rising. The cold extreme indexes are all descending.(2) During1960-2009, Chinese winter average, maximum and minimum temperature’s and winter warm night frequency, warm daytime frequency’s standard deviation distributions show that the standard deviation in the north is larger than that in the south.(3) The trend coefficients of Chinese winter average, maximum and minimum temperature during1960-2009, are all increase all over China. The average and minimum temperature’s trend coefficients rising significantly over the most Chinese area. The trend coefficients of Chinese winter warm indexes are rising. While the trend coefficients of Chinese winter cold indexes are descending. In general, the trend coefficients in the north are larger than that in the south of China.(4) Chinese winter average maximum and minimum temperature and winter warm night frequency, warm daytime frequency, cold night frequency and cold daytime frequency show obvious area feature. Their trends are all warming and the mutation years are different among areas.(5) During1960-2009, Chinese winter average, maximum and minimum temperature’s and winter warm night frequency’s and warm daytime frequency’s abnormally high years, the intensity of East Asia trough and the intensity of Siberian high pressure are abnormally weak, and global sea surface temperature(SST) is abnormally warm. While in the temperatures’and cold indexes’abnormally cold years, SST take on the opposite situation. In the average, maximum and minimum temperatures’abnormally warm years, the Indian Ocean’s, the kuroshio’s, and the southeast Pacific’s and the Atlantic Ocean’s SST are abnormally warm. In the warm indexes’abnormally high years, the Indian Ocean’s, the kuroshio’s, and the south Pacific’s and the north Atlantic’s SST are abnormally warm. But there is little correlation between the cold indexes and the SST.
