The paper studies the seedlings of five plants, which are Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Taxodium ascendens, Pterocarya stenoptera, Alnus trabeculosa and Amorpha fruticosa. We study the height, biomass and root-shoot ratio of the60-day-old seedlings of these5species grow in different water level, which are-9cm,-6cm,-3cm,0cm,2cm,4cm and6cm, and we also study the survival time of these seedlings in waterlogged conditions, and the result are as follows:1.In different water level, the height and leaves number of seedlings of these5specises changed over time. The growth of seedlings of Pterocarya stenoptera was inhibited first;During the experiment,we find the seedlings of Metasequoia glyptostroboides has adventitious roots in the water level higher than Ocm, the seedlings of Alnus trabeculosa and Amorpha fruticosa not only have adventitious roots but also have lenticels; The height of seedlings of Taxodium ascendens、Pterocarya stenoptera、 Alnus trabeculosa and Amorpha fruticosa are significantly different, the biomass of seedlings of Pterocarya stenoptera. Alnus trabeculosa and Amorpha fruticosa are significantly different, and the root-shoot ratio of the seedlings of these5speciese are significantly different. Based on the comprehensive analysis of biomass, height and root-shoot ratio, we find that the seedlings of Metasequoia glyptostroboides and Taxodium ascendens adapt to the all water level of this experiment, and the most suitable water level for seedlings of Pterocarya stenoptera and Amorpha fruticosa is from-9cm to-6cm, and the seedlings of Alnus trabeculosa is-3cm.This illustrates that adventitious roots and lenticels can increase the seedling survivability; the seedlings which is strong such as Taxodium ascendens can adapt to different water levels.2. The seedlings of these5specise are all died in waterlogged conditions, The seedlings of Taxodium ascendens and Pterocarya stenoptera can live longer in all flooded condition, and they were died in65days,The seedlings of Metasequoia glyptostroboide,Alnus trabeculosa and Amorpha fruticosa were died in30days.The survival time from long to short is as follows:Taxodium ascendens, Pterocarya stenoptera,Metasequoia glyptostroboides,Alnus trabeculosa,Amorpha fruticosa.
