Seismic exploration can help us to map some geologic features which are associated with hydrocarbon deposition, generation, migration, entrapment, in order to characterize the static and dynamic characteristics of subsurface reservoirs. With higher explorational degree of oil/gas field, it is more and more difficult to explore structural reservoirs. Lithologic, fault block, fractured and subtle reservoirs have emerged as a major focus of current research, so analysis of reservoir heterogeneity and anisotropy seems more and more important. Seismic attributes reflect all characteristics of seismic signals and reflect physical and lithologic properties of reservoirs from different ways. Therefore, extracting the hidden information related to the physical property of the surrounding formation and converting them into the information related to lithology, physical properties and reservoir characteristics can directly conduce to geological interpretation and reservoir engineering, fully tap potentialities of seismic data, and improve reservoir prediction, characterization and monitoring ability. In this Paper, following the basis principle of seismic attributes, we have the primary recognition an generalization of the development process, current situation and development trend of the seismic attributes, and make a concrete analysis and study for the classification of seismic attributes, extraction methods, optimization methods and making specific in building relationships of reservoir parameter and attribute, etc. Rely on’Three-dimensional Resorvoir Prediction and Structure Description in Carboniferous Xiaohaizi Group of Xianbazha’, aiming at the features of strong heterogeneity of carbonate reservoir in Carboniferous Xiaohaizi group in Xianbazha of Bamai area in Tarim Basin, based on well-seismic fine calibration, carrying out structural interpretation of3D seismic data and applying seismic attributes techniques in fracture-cavity reservoir prediction. Finally, traps evaluation of reservoir is made after combinated the conclusions of forward modeling and constrained sparse pulse inversion to optimize exploration targets. We came to the following main conclusion and research outcomes:the structure of work area is relatively simple, the Selibuya fault zone towards north-west, the lower plate of it, namely southwest is in low position, the higher plate of it, namely norhteast is in high position.Extracting the seismic attributes and using a hybrid optimization method for the screening of4kinds of seismic attributes, such as instantaneous amplitude, instantaneous phase, kurtosis, pseudo entropy, which are the most sensitive and independent on reservoir reflection. Through multiple attribute comprehensive analysis, predicting the distribution of favorable reservoirs. Combining forward modeling, constrained sparse pulse inversion, predicting that the cracks or porocity bioclastic limestone in the central section of Xiaohaizi group are the favorable reservoirs, then completed9favorable reservoirs comparison tracking. Based on zone comprehensive evaluation, trap selection, providing3proposed well location.
