With the global energy scarcity, the exploration of bio-energy is pushed into the spotlight. Biodiesel is one of the bio-energy. Microalgae is a perfect resource for making biodiesel, because it has lots of dramatic advantages, including rapid growth, abundance of fatty acid, huge planting areas and no competition with crops, and this type of energy is named Microalgae Biodiesel. Moreover, Microalgae is a kind of photoautotrophic microorganism, using carbon dioxide for survive, and this is beneficial for our environment, so it is very important to develop microalgae biodiesel technology.Microalgae was tried to be cultured by the high concentration of carbon dioxide in smokestack to reduce the release of carbon dioxide from factory, and also collecting biomass for making biodiesel, according to the indirect strategy. The content is showed as follow.1) A mutant freshwater chlorella was gained, which can stand high temperature, through protoplast-ultraviolet mutation and high temperature screening culture. The mutant strain can survive even at55℃, and the best growth temperature is from35℃to45℃. Therefore, this type of chlorella can be applied to reduce carbon dioxide concentration in smokestack.2) The poison gases in smokestack can inhibit the cell growth of chlorella, so we try to amplify culturing mutant chlorella in the mimetic smokestack of heat-engine plant, and then screen out of the best survival strains. After screening, the chlorella can grow faster than ever, especially in the logarthmic growth phase. The mutant strain can get into stationary phase by only2days. Also, this way reduces2d life cycle, and increase20percent fat content in chlorella.3) A chrysophyta cell (high fat content) was hybridized with a freshwater chlorella cell (rapid growth), find out the fusion cell through microscope, collecting it by capillary pipet, and culturing it in sterile. Most importantly, we already have a technology platform for fusing cells and screening fusion cells, which is good for the future research.
