The problem of gas-liquid two-phase flow distribution widely exists in many fields such as power boilers, petrochemical industry, nuclear power, refrigeration and so on. The distribution of gas-liquid two-phase flow is uniform or not directly influences the economy and security of these equipments.This paper aimed at the distribution characteristics of gas-liquid two-phase flow in header system with two radial inlets, four test sections had been designed for experiment research about gas-liquid two-phase flow distribution. The paper compared the improved effect after adding the flute distributor through experiment data and analyzed the influence on the distribution characteristics of mass flux and the mass quality. It was found that the flute distributor not only can improve the uniform of two-phase flow but also can improve the effect of inlet condition. Further more, the paper also research the influence on the two-phase flow distribution characteristics in header system of the branch tubes arrangement and the number. And it was found that the distance between branch tube and inlet tube, the number of branch tubes between one tube and the inlet and the total number of the branch tubes influence the distribution of two-phase flow. But after adding the flute distributor, the influence above will be reduced.The paper also analyzed the flow condition of gas-liquid two-phase flow through high-speed photography. It was found that in traditional header system the flow of two-phase will pass three phases:soft flow phase, the phase in which the fluid centralize to the center of the test section and the phase in which water flow from the left to the right side or from the right to the left side. Besides, the paper analyzed the water distribution in different branch tubes and got the same conclusion with the experiment. At last, it analyzed the reason why flute distributor can improved the two-phase flow distribution characteristics through high-speed photography.
