The relay zone is the earliest research thrust tectonics proposed, refers to structural zoneof interaction between the two faults. With the further study found, the relay zone iswidelydeveloped in the extensional, compressional and strike-slip basin, and exists in different scalestructures. At present, the formation mechanism of the relay zone have mainly both thesegmentation growth mechanism and the differential movement mechanism, the faultsegmentation growth mainly experienced three stages: isolate nucleation stage," soft linkage"and" hard linkage" stage; differential movement often leads to the formation of the tear fault.This article in Haita Basin Central rift zone for target area, dreesing systemly distributionof the main fault in the active rifting period; In Tanan depression as an example, based on thefault plane throw,the fault plane shear strain contour and fault growth linkage standardscorrecting fault combination way. Based on the main fault distribution, combining research onunderstanding of the relay zone of Predecessors as well as the linkage way of the relay zone,we propose a suitable classification of the ralay zone in rift basin, and put forward a level,level two, level three and level Four relay zone division principle. At last,I think that thereare9types of relay zone in Central rift zone of Haita Basin,respectively the rifting edge relayzone with the uplift as the boundary (Tong Bomiao fault), the rifting edge relay zone withstrike-slip fault to boundary, the relay zone of synthetic tear fault (Su Rennuoer fault), therelay zone of synthetic overlapping type, the relay zone of synthetic approaching type, therelay zone of convergent overlapping type, the relay zone of convergent collateral type, therelay zone of divergent collateral type, the relay zone of synthetic transfer fault type.We sum systemly the recognition method of relay zone and its application limitation inthe rift basin, and analyze the method of the relay zone type and distribution of the geologicalhistory-fault throw backstripping. The fault throw backstripping mainly has two kinds ofmethods: the original fault throw subtraction and the maximum fault throw subtractionmethod, this research attempt to using the maximum fault throw subtraction. Through therelay zone identification technology,we explicit relay zone types, levels and distribution inHaita Basin Central rift zone, based on the" four figure-one backstripping" techniques todetermine the law of formation and evolution of the relay zone.The formation and evolution of the relay zone matchs with sedimentary facies well,combined with comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of seismic profiles in Tanandepression, we prove that the realy zone is the channel of the water into the basin, which control distribution of the sandbody; On this basis, we establish sand-controlling mode ofdifferent types of relay zone in the rift basin.Based on fault controlling mechanism as the theoretical basis, systemly analysissing themain control factors of controlling reservoir of the relay zone, which thinks that model ofrelay zone controlling reservoir in Haita Basin Central fault rift zone contain: fault screenedhydrocarbon reservoirs in fault hanging wall bend, antithetic fault screened hydrocarbonreservoirs in overlying fault footwall, the oblique anticline reservoirs in opposite-dipoverlapping fault and lithologic up-dip pinchout reservoirs related to the relay zone.
