Abstract: Layererd mafic intrusions not only represent natural laboratories for studingprocesses of magmatic differentiation and assimilation within the crust, but alsocontain Cr,V,Ti,Cu,Ni,PGE and other metal mineralization. The Jiamate intrusion, apart of the Qinghe Altay large aera,is one of typical Fe-Cu-Au magnetiteore-bearing layered gabbro intrusions. In this paper,a petrological, geochemical andmineralization study has been carried out on the Jiamate layererd intrusion, with afocus on analysis of it’s tectonic setting and mineralization causes by system. The layered intrusion main rock types are olivine gabbro, magnetite gabbro, gabbro, diabase, amphibole-gabbro, pyroxene diorite, diorite, monzonite diorite, belonging to the mafic-ultramafic intrusions. Layered intrusions are characterized by atypical layered structure and rhythmic texture. The main minerals are iron, copper, gold, which exist in the layered gabbros. They enrich in Large ion lithophile elements(LILE), and relatively depleted in High field strength elements(HFSE) such asNb,Ta,Ti and Zr. Jiamate layered intrusion inheritis the feature of island-arc tectonicsetting with higher Sr, k and lower Ti content. The layererd intrusion formed byfractional crystallization of the deep mantle magma for many times which weresubjected to comtaminated by upper-intermediated continental crust. The causes ofthe Fe(Cu-Au)ore body in the layered gabbros rock belongs to the late magmaticcrystallization-penetration causes. Plate subduction has played an important role inthe formation process of rocks, magmatic intrusion not long after the formation ofvolcanic rock. From its tectonic setting, with large deposits of ore-forming geologicalbackground in the world (island arc and activity edges) are very similar, therefore hasgood prospects. Depth study of this area has the important theory and the practicalsignificance looking for iron, copper, gold deposits and other related deposits.
