In this paper, we propose a numerical scheme to solve incompressible two-components displacement problems. First, we would like to introduce the mathematical model and the process of its reduction. Then there are some relevant background knowledge and analysis of the two numerical methods, which are used to solve the coupled equations. As for the model, there are two equations in this problem—the pressure equation and the concentration equation. The pressure equation is solved by continues mixed element method, which approximates the vector flux by a continues func-tion. Meanwhile, a new characteristic method is used to solve the concen-tration equation. In this method, it preserves mass-balance property of the original equation. Then, we analysis the stability property of this scheme and show the error estimation of the concentration in the form as L∞norm in time and L2norm in space. Finally, there are two numerical examples to verify the convergence property of this scheme we propose.
