Shujiadian Deposit is located in the eastern part of Tongling district, theMiddle and Lower Yangze River metallogic belt, which also belongs to theintermediate zone between Tongling fault-block region and Fanchang volcanicbasin. After detailed understood the regional geological background and maindeposits types, the author did systematic field and laboratory work on Shujiadiandeposit, which included its mineralization and alteration characters, ore-formingstages and the minerals assemblages, and geochemical and fluid inclusionscharacters. After that, the author further identified the source of metal materials, discussed characters of the ore-forming fluids, illustrated the mechanism of themineralization, and then established the metallogenic model. The wall-rock of Shujiadian deposit is pyroxene diorite. The primary magmawas derived from EMII-type mantle source, and experienced fractionalcrystallization and crustal contamination during its emplacement. There alsowidely distributes yonger felsic intrusions in Shujiadian area, including quartzdiorite, quartz diorite porphyry, granite porphyry, quartz syenite porphyry anddiabase porphyry. The orebodies in Shujiadian deposit are controlled by Shujiadianbrachyanticline, which are mainly composed by sulfide. The metal minerals arechalcopyrite and pyrite, while the main gangue minerals are quartz and potassiumfeldspar. The texture and structure of ore in Shujiadian deposits areeuhedral-subhedral granular texture, and tveinlets-disseminated structurerespectively. The wall-rock alterations in Shujiadian deposits exhibit potassiumsilicate alteration zone, propylitic rock alteration zone and phyllic alteration zonefrom mineralization core to edge. Th mineralization in Shujiadian deposit can besubdivides into four stages, which are skarn stage, potassium silicate stage, quartzsulfide stage and quartz carbonate stage in turn, moreover, the quartz sulide stagecan be divided into the quartz sulfide sub-stage and chlorite-epidote sub-stage.The temperature and salty of ore-forming fluid in Shujiadian depositconsistently fell down along the ore-forming fluid evolution. and themineralization was prone to the contact zone between pyroxene diorite and Siluriansandstone. Based on all the above research work,, the author propos that theShujiadian deposit is a continental porphyry copper deposit, and establish its metallogenic mode.
