In the late few years, the taxonomic and morphogenetic studies on Hypotrichs haveaccomplished tremendous achievement. However, recent studies demonstrate that thediversity of the order Hypotrichina is still far from understood, and many more species awaitdiscovery, especially from undersampled habitats. In the present work, the morphology andontogenesis during asexual division of Hypotrichous ciliates collected from Shandong andGuangdong offshore have been investigated, including10genera and10species. Two newgenera and six new species have been established while five species’ morphogeneticcharacters have been revealed thoroughly. The results of this work can be divided into twoparts: the morphology and the morphogenesis parts:Morphology part, including5genera and5species1)Three new forms are establishedLamtostyla ovalis nov. spec, Pseudokeronopsis paraflava nov. spec and Oxytrichaparagranulifera nov. spec were isolated and described based on morphological and habitatinformation and comparison with other congenic species.2)one new recordThe Chinese population of Urosoma salmastra was firstly found and reportedwith living morphology and detailed infraciliature, which help clarify the confusionin previous work.3)Redescription of one speciesBased on the guangdong population, additional morphological, morphometriccharacteristics and infraciliature information of Gonostomum affine are provided.Morphogenesis part, including5genera and5species1)The morphogenetic characteristics of Uroleptopsis citrina were thoroughly studiedand revealed to be coherent with other Pseudokeronopsidae-species, except no transverse andbuccal cirri formed and2cirri formed from undulating membranes anlage. Themorphogenesis in this group is conservative. 2)During the morphogenetic process of Heterokeronopsis pulchra, its last frontoventraltransversal anlage gives rise to a midventral row and no frontoterminal or transverse cirri areformed. These characters support the establishment of Heterokeronopsis nov. gen. combinedwith its morphology and infraciliature of ordinary cells.3)No buccal cirri were discerned during the binary and asexual process in Apoholostichasinica. Based on the morphological, morphogenetic and molecular information and thecomparison with other species, Apoholosticha gen. nov. is established and ascribed to thefamily Pseudokeronopsidae.4)The morphogenetic process of Anteholosticha paramanca is thoroughly studied, whichis similar to its congeners such as Anteholosticha pulchra and Anteholosticha manca andreflects that morphogenesis of the same genus is highly conservative.5)the detailed studies of ontogenesis of E. raikovi reveal the developmental mode ofciliates with cirral pattern of "2:2:3:2(+1):2", which proves the V/2cirral plaque derives fromthe middle part of the forth frontoventral transversal cirral anlage.
