The thesis mainly designed fluorescence lifetime measurement instrument, and539nm fluorescence lifetime of Er/Yb-doped silicate glasses was measured.In this thesis, it firstly introduced the generation mechanism of fluorescence, fluorescent decay laws, physical significances of fluorescence lifetime and other basic theory for fluorescence lifetime measurement. Then it introduced the existing methods for fluorescence lifetime measurement, and emphasised on the basic principle of phase modulation method and stroboscopic technique after compared with two kinds of methods. According to phase modulation method, this thesis discussed several phase shift angle measurement solutions and decided to adopt phase-sensitive detection method for measuring the phase shift angle. With phase-sensitive detection as the core technology, this thesis provided the detailed design scheme of hardware and software for the measuring instrument, and completed the whole circuit made and debugging. According to stroboscopic technique method, the characteristic of incentive source and detector is analyzed. The ways to choose the key device is given, the thesis described how to use this appliance.At last, the lifetime of the Er fluorescence measured is2.2ms. For the measurement results, this thesis provided error sources are analyzed, and the system improvement plan.。...
