Plane rotary motion of slope was found as a new slope deformation mode for a few years.The basic character is rotating along some plane of the space, and the direction of themovement in every part is different, the study of stability is more focused on lateral stabilitythan the longitudinal stability of traditional slope. The deformation model of object of thispaper is similar with slope plane rotary motion.The open-pit molybdenum mine in Jinduicheng is located in Huaxian city of ShaanxiProvince, is the largest open-pit molybdenum ore mining in our country. Exploration lastingfor more than fifty years has formed some high slopes with hundreds of meters. Yanmenaofracture has a great impact on north bondi, and the slope problem is very serious.In this paper, deformation body of north boundary in Jinduicheng mining field is as theresearch object. Its features are as follows: fault breccia and porphyrite are the main rocks,and the west side is bounded by faults. There is a series of camber structural planes in thelower part, but the whole body has not been cut out. The fracture in the east belongs to thetensile fracture. The top of the body is overall tumbled, and the west side of the body has beendeforming rapidly, and has formed a number of cracks. Due to the comprehensive analysis ofthe basic form and characteristics of deformation, it determined the deformation body is arotary deformation mode.Based on simplifying the data of the field investigation of the body, the authorestablished the geologic model. By the stereographic projection and three-dimensional finiteelement simulation of deformation and failure characteristics, the author drew the conclusionsas follows:1. The results of the stereographic projection analysis: the single step slope is in danger,but the overall slope is in the steady state.2. The finite element analysis shows: the main deformation of the body is vertical motionunder the influence of gravity, and the motion of horizontal plane is secondary. Plastic strainfirstly appears in the toe, and with decreasing of the reduction coefficient, the excavation andblasting will have a great impact on the stability of the slope. By the way of the numerical simulation analysis and contrast, deformation mechanism ofslope was found out and excavation and blasting will have some influence on deformation.Sothe author gives some suggestions.
