Ziyang county is located in the Qinling-Daba mountains, the geological disasters occuredfrequently in the influence of topography and geomorphology over the years, stratumlithology, geologic structure, incising of river, rainfall and human engineering activity, caused alarge number of casualties and property damage. This dissertation using GIS as supporting platform, studying the geological disasters ofZiyang county. Research on the development environment, types, distribution and risk zoningof the geological disasters in Ziyang county was carried out based on field investigation andgeological data analysis.Obtain the following main result:(1)Setting up a geological disaster spatial database of Ziyang county combining withfield investigation and GIS technology.(2)Using GIS statistic functions to analyse the spatial distribution of geological disastersin Ziyang county, and obtained the correlations of the occurrence of geological disasters withhuman engineering activity, formation lithologic, geologic structure, topographic variables.(3)Using certainty factor to analysis the influence of the factors on hazard assessment, determing the levels of the factors which caused geological disasters and establish thequantization index system.(4) Using GIS overlay function to finish the danger devision. The geological disasterdivision of Ziyang county is divided into five levels, including high-risk area、little high-riskarea、danger zones、little low danger zone、 low danger zone.Acordding to the result of thedanger of geological disaster district, contrasting the exist situation, the high-risk and littlehigh-risk area ratio reach to67.6percent, proved the rationality of zonation.
