The study on behaviors of female adult and nestling in Common Kestrel (Falcotinnunculus) breeding was conducted at ZuoJia Nature Reserve,Jilin province from March toJuly in2010and2011.Focal sampling and all occurrences recording methods were utilized todetermine the behavior mode, time budgets and daily activities of adult and nestlings ofCommon Kestrel. Results showed that:(1) The time budget of female adult in CommonKestrel was modified by daily rhythm in incubation period. Incubation behavior consists ofmajor activity, accounting for58.53℅of the whole day time budget, then reces spending27.50℅、drying spending3.41℅、preening spending3.00℅、turning eggs spending2.61℅、feeding spending1.12℅、watching spending0.74℅. Results showed that preening behaviorwas significant difference in the daily rhythm of incubating, others was no significant.(2) Thetime budget of female adult in Common Kestrel was modified by daily rhythm in earlybrooding period. Warming nestling behavior consists of major activity, accounting for71.52℅of the whole day time budget, then reces spending17.31℅、feed spending3.60%、preeningspending2.72℅、feeding spending1.64℅、watching spending0.87℅. Results showed thatfeeding behavior was significant difference in the daily rhythm of early brooding, others wasno significant.(3) The time budget of nestling in Common Kestrel was modified by dailyrhythm in middle brooding period. Resting behavior consists of major activity, accounting for78.30℅of the whole day time budget, then feeding spending10.37%、preening spending8.83%、walking spending1.81%、watching spending0.69℅. Results showed that preeningbehavior was significant difference in the daily rhythm of middle brooding, others was nosignificant.
