The dissertation researched the single test and self-calibration of the Terrestrial LaserScanner’s performance as pivotal problem.The primary works and obtained contributions weresummarized as follows:1、Introduce the representative product of TLS, including software and hardware, principleof measuring and performance parameters.2、According to analyse errors, list many formulas of system errors, summarize trend ofpartial randomicity errors, and set up reasonable error modeling.3、Constant of instrument, accuracy of distance, accuracy of angle, accuracy of pointposition and resolution of TLS are single tested. Put forward a method of mensurating AdditionConstant based on trigonometry, distance dispersion method based on the double frequency laserinterferometer to test distance accuracy, diagonal method based on small vertical angle to testhorizontal angle accuracy, direct angle-switch method to test vertical angle accuracy, a methodto test point position accuracy based on large-scale radar antenna, and research the size ofresolution. The methods are feasible and effective which was proved by Large numbers ofexperiment data and reliable result. So these methods can provide reference to the other TLS.4、The pilot study of entironment affect indicates that it is not notability.5、The holistic testing of instrument is discussed. It is self-calibration based on man-madetargets. All of sealed parameters are assessed. It is applied to VZ-400laser scanner, and thetesting experiment proves that this method is effective.6、According to establish3D modeling with ture colour of cupreous sculpture, the scanner’sperformance of modeling accuracy is tested with complicated environment.From the effect ofmodeling, VZ-400laser scanner has the function to establish modeling with farther precision.
