This dissertation is derived from practical engineering problems which a domestic largeoilfield meets in actual oilfield development, and the purpose of the study is to check thestructural strength of oilfield bridge plug. The enterprise demands that the two materialsprovided by it instead of original materials and finite element commercial software is appliedto structural analysis of bridge plugs designed by it.Bridge plug which is a kind of packers is a tool for sealing oilfield downhole by theelastic sealing component, and it widely used in reservoir, gas reservoir and water layer.Because petroleum resources run short day by day in resent years, drilling and completionoperation gradually develop to deep formation. In order to adapt to very complicate miningenvironment, the operations bring newer and higher requirements to packers. During theprocess of construction, it usually takes place that bridge plug can not set the casings. In thiscase, the oilfield development will be hindered or operate more than once, which can causeunnecessary economic loss, delay of man-hours and waste of human resources. Therefore, ithas important significance to analyze the structure of bridge plug by FEM.Based on substructure method, bridge plug with complex structure is split into severalsubstructures which are main load-bearing components in this dissertation. Thus, theproblem is transformed into linear static analysis and non-linear contact analysis for somesubstructures. The former analysis of FEM is completed by mainly using Hypermesh, andHypermesh meshes central tube, etc according to solid element. The properties of the twomaterials provided by the enterprise, loading and contact types are defined; then, loadingcalculation is developed according to actual working condition. Linear static analysis isstudied by Radioss equation solver, and contact nonlinear analysis is studied by Abaqus. Thecalculation results are analyzed, which can check whether the two materials meetengineering requirements. Static analysis represents that the strength of bridge plug is notsufficient, thus, part structure and dimension should be improved. Contact analysisrepresents that the bridge plug can not bear loading if the two materials are used. Thematerials should be changed, or the structure and dimension of part loading componentsshould be modified.
