The development of fractures often affects the distribution of hydrocarbonreservoirs and plays a decisive role in dense rocks. Fractures can enhancepermeability in reservoirs and hence impact the productivity and recovery efficiencyof oil and gas reservoirs. The research on seismic identification and prediction offractured reservoir at home and abroad has been conducted for decades. Although thisissue has been studied from many aspects, because of the complex relationship andconflict between the contributing factor with scale of fractures and seismic responsecharacteristics with resolution, the seismic detection technology of fracture zone isstill in continuous improvement and continuous development phases.In this paper, the fracture detection and prediction is researched, which is mainlycaused by tectonic deformation as the controlling factors of the crack, bymulti-disciplines, multi-method and multi-parameter is the way to reduce multiplicityin fracture detection and prediction. First, study the causes, distribution and seismicresponse characteristics of this type of fracture. Second, based on the linearcharacteristics of the fracture, seismic rose diagrams are plotted by using directionweighted filtering based on coherent attributions. With the relationship betweentectonic stress and fracture, I make system analysis by seismic rose diagrams alonghorizon to predict the tectonic stress. Third, estimate and optimize the seismicattributes and analytical methods, an effective fracture prediction flow ofmulti-attribute was set up through comprehensive prediction by seismic rose diagramsand multi-attributes combination.The approaches are applied to dolomite fractures of Fengcheng formation inNorthwest edge of Xinjiang Oilfield,which come from an actual undertaken project,and the results provide good references and strong technical support in the accuratelyoil and gas prediction in the area.
