Reservoir seismic prediction is one of core technology in oil and gas explorationand development. Reservoir seismic prediction is mainly by means of analyzing thevariation of lithology, petrophysics and changes in fluid properties of the filling, which caused the changes of seismic reflection wave velocity, amplitude, phase, frequency, waveform to predict the distribution of reservoir rocks and the reservoircharacteristics.Mainly existing technology and methods of reservoir seismic prediction: theseismic inversion technology and the seismic attribute analysis technology.Predecessors have done a lot of research work, the research work push the technologyof seismic exploration forward, but there are still a lot of problems need furtherresearch. The seismic reflection amplitude is the most basic information of seismic dataacquisition. Amplitude attribute is one of the most significant and clear attributeparameters in Geological and geophysical data. There are many factors causing inamplitude change, so the problems of multiple solutions of Amplitude attributes inseismic reservoir prediction is always a hot topic for people to study and discuss.Based on the waveform characteristics including amplitude information to doReservoir prediction is one of the methods that people always used. Seismic reflectionwave shape as the original form in seismic exploration, also as the final form, containsplenty of information. Predecessors have done a lot of research work, but many ofthem focus on the waveform shape to describe the wave and has achieved certainresults. This paper conducted the study and discuss that meet the requirements inpractical work on the sensitivity (prediction effect) of the waveform and amplitudeattributes in the reservoir prediction by rigorous analysis and study of the influencefactors to waveform and amplitude attributes, and drew a conclusion that waveformattribute is more sensitive than amplitude attribute on recognizing and predicting thechanges of reservoir in the horizontal direction, provided some new and technicalways for seismic reservoir prediction.
