The North-west region in our country is the most water-shortage area in China, where cold and dry, scant of rainfall but evaporation and windy. The water resource doesn’t meet the daily water consumption. So, reasonable allocation of water resources and wastewater reclamation technology should be the most important methods to solve the problem of water deficiency.Recent year, the development of membrane technology leads MBR craft widely used in deep treatment of wastewater, and create a broad space of development for sewage reuse. MBR system combined with conventional biological treatment is the most advance sewage treatment at present. It has many advantages ,but the high energy consumption and unstable removal rate of TP,NH3-N were the defects of this system. The system combined with A~2O and MBR inherited the advantages of each treatment and overcome the defects of each treatment. Enhanced the removal rate of NH3-N and TP, reduced the cover area, and achieved the reasonable allocation of water resources. This research based on the design of a new A~2O-MBR system, the operation and the effluent characteristics.1. Made the conclusion of the characteristics in operating the system through long term management. The operation can be divided into three parts, first is cultivating activated sludge period, the second is low load test run period, the third is full load work period. Analyzed the feature of the three periods.2.Analyzed the effluent within a operation cycle(180d), the result shows the removal rate of NH3-N,TP,COD was 85%,91%,88%. 3.Analyzed the influencing factor to the pollutant removal efficiency ,the important factor were temperature,feature of activated sludge and HRT.4. Discussed the membrane fouling problem and membrane clean method in this treatment.5. Because of the good quality of effluent, it can be reused in municipal water, this was according with the theory of water conservation in this city, and the reusing could bring economic benefit.Through experiment research and the operation of this sewage treatment, the result shows the combined system A~2O-MBR owns the advantage of A~2O and MBR treatment, and has widely potential in sewage treatment technology.
