Seamless steel tube enterprises are facing great challenges at present, so they adjustthe varieties of the product , eliminate the larged capacity and develop products of highqualities one after another. The experimental research verified that a good pass is veryimportant to help improve the flow of the metal during rolling the tube, and so to controlthe surface quality and mechanical properties of the steel tube, to improve the tube quality.Firstly, by analysising the rolling characteristics of the continuous rolling pipe, withthe princeple that the difference value of the contact arc length of the roll and the tube atthe direction of the axial of the roll is minimum, this paper designed the groove byiteration after distributed the Reducing mill rate, and then with the princeple that thelength of the ellipse line value is minimun, adjusted the ellipse of every groove, andfinally obtained the The optimal parameters of the groove.Secongdly, this paper established the velocity filed of the metal in the deformationarea during rolling when the tube through the frame, and then calculated the mechanicparameters of the mills with the designed groove above on this velocity filed. Realisedthe groove designing, process optimization and the calculation of machinic parameters.Thirdly, this paper established the model of the rolling process above with the marcFEM software, developed the computer simulation system of this rolling, simulated thismodel in steel 15, analysised the shape, stress, strain and temperature at the export ofeach frame, extracting the data of rolling force and rolling torque, and then compaired thecalculation value and the simulation value after processing the data. The error is in 10%,this proved the correctness of the velocity field and the rationality of the groove.Lastly, extracted the data of displacement and stress of the matal at the export of thesecond groove, studied the influence of the groove shape to the flow law during rolling.Obtained the influence law of each groove parameters to the metal flow law.
