It is well know that activated carbon is a solid material with high BET surface anddevelop pore distributing. It extensively used in industry such as wastewater treatment, airpurification, organic solvent recovery, gas separation and purification, preparation ofcatalyst etc. Straw and sewage sludge is two waste of agricultural production and city life,burning and burying is the usual treatment, and this two ways will cause air and landpollution. So it has the vital significance to exploit the sewage sludge and straw.This experiment with straw for raw materials, ZnCl2as activator, through the chemicalactivation method for activated carbon. Select the impregnation ratio, temperature andactivation time for influence factors, using the orthogonal experiment design principle,through iodine value and specific surface area for the evaluation index method anddetermine the straw effect of the best preparation process. The results show that the bestproduction conditions of straw activated carbon is impregnation ratio of2:1, activationtemperature600℃and the activation time60min. The active carbon produced underthese conditions had specific surface area1240m2/g, iodine value1135mg/g and yield42.1%.With sludge as raw materials, ZnCl2as activator, through the chemical activationmethod for activated carbon. Select the concentration of ZnCl2solution, solid-liquid ratio,temperature and activation time for activation factors, using the orthogonal experimentdesign principle, through iodine value and specific surface area for the evaluation indexmethod and determine the sludge effect of the best preparation process. The results showthat the best production conditions of sludge activated carbon is activation temperature600℃, the activation time60min, the concentration of ZnCl2solution40%, solid-liquidratio1:2. The active carbon produced under these conditions had specific surface area653m2/g, iodine value578mg/g and yield43.7%.The sludge and straw mixed with different proportion, ZnCl2as activator, byorthogonal experiment optimize the mix of activated carbon preparation technologyconditions, and the single factor analysis demonstrates the rationality of the processparameters. The results show that the best production conditions of mix activated carbon isimpregnation ratio of2:1, the activation time60min, material ratio of1:1, activationtemperature500℃. The active carbon produced under these conditions had specificsurface area1034m2/g, iodine value804mg/g and yield41.3%. The last analysis of activated carbon samples specific surface area, iodine adsorptionvalue, SEM and FTIR. Show that sludge and straw mixed preparation with active carbonis feasible, and has the environmental benefits and economic benefits.
