The design and synthesis of new coordination polymers has been a hot topic in the new complexes reported in recent years not only has a charming network topology, and because of the mutual influence of ligands and metal complexes have unique properties, a variety of structures and types of light, electricity, magnetism, catalysis, chiral separation function in nonlinear optics, photoluminescence (PL) point, molecular magnetism, gas adsorption, molecular recognition has tremendous potential value. Employment of the principle and method of coordination chemisty can realize the modification and assembling of the metal-organic architectures, which is beneficial to obtain novel topological frameworks with special functions. So it becomes one of the development trends of modern coordination chemisty, and attracts much interest of chemists.In the work, we reported ten coordination polymers formed using flexible Iigands4.4’-bis(1,2.4-triazol-l-ylmethyl)biphenyl (btmb), auxiliary ligands (1,4-bdc、1,3-bdc、Hba、H2blta、2,6-H2dpc and KSCN) with transition metal cations Zn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II), namely,[Zn(btmb)(SCN)2]n (1),[Zn(btmb)(bdc)]n (2),[Zn(btmb)(Hbta)]n (3),{[Zn(btmb)(Hbtc)]-2H2O}n (4),[Co0.5(btmb)o.5(ba)(H20)]n (5),{[Co(btmb)(1,3-bdc)]·H2O}n (6),[Co(btrmb)(1,4-bdc)(H2O)2]n (7),{[Co2(btmb)1.5(Hblta)(blta)(H2O)]·H2O}n (8),[Cuo.5(btmb)(N03)]n (9) and {[Cu(btmb)o.5(2,6-pdc)(H20)]·2H20}n (10)(1,3-H2bdc=1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid, Hsbtc=1,3.5-benzenetricarboxylic acid and H3bta=1,2.4-benzenetricarboxylic acid, Hba=benzenecarboxylic acid,5-H2blta=5-t-butylisophthalicAcid,1,4-H2bdc=1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid,2,6-H2dpc=2,6-dicarboxylicpyridine acid). The crystal structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In these ten coordination polymers, complexes1,5and9possess one-dimensional (1D) chain structures. Complexes2,3and7possess2D undulating networks with (4~4·6~2) topology. Complex4shows a2-fold interpenetrating architecture between the adjacent2D (4,4) layers. Complex6includes a dimeric unit, which is built from two cobalt atoms and four1.3-bdc ligands. Complex8contains a four-nucleus unit and shows a3D network. Complex10displays0D structure, further form a one-dimensional (ID) chain structures by hydrogen bonds of adjacent units.Elementary anaiyses, IR and PXRD for these complexes are characterized. Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) for6and8are discussed. The luminescent properties for2-4are also discussed in detail.
