With the development of modern science, new technology as well as newmethod, the value of coal comprehensive consumption has been increasingrecently. Coal industry holds a much more important position than ever before innational economy. Expanding the coal industry chain, advocating energy-savingand ejection-decreasing, development of low carbon economy, and promoting ofcoal industry-restructuring have become the strategic goal for energy sustainabledevelopment. Under this circumstances, the Coal-Water Slurry (CWS) hasbecome a new generation of environmentally cleaning oil fuel. The CWSdispersants are the foundation of making high concentration CWS as well as itsstability. The development and of CWS dispersants are important to theapplication and spread of CWS.In order to overcome the disadvantage of tradition dispersant such asinsufficient effect and high cost, the aim of this paper is to conduct a research onthe CWS dispersants of new humic acid/IA/AA/AMPS by using the naturalmolecules and synthetic macromolecule compound method, combined theadvantage of both.Firstly, the humic acid in weathered coal was obtained. The optimumtechnological conditions were: Pre-heated the weathered coal in8%nitric acid,under60℃for30mins. Alkali dissolved the solution (5%, NaOH:Na4P2O7=1:1) under50℃for4hrs. Adjusted the PH value to2by using the HCl6mol/L,and then centrifugalized the product. Under this circumstance, the extraction rateof humic aid in weathered coal could be44.1%Secondly, using itaconic acid (IA), acrylic acid (AA),2-acrylamide-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) as monomers, usingpotassium persulfate and sodium bisulfite as initiators, the IA/AA/AMPS wasproduced. The rheological analysis showed that dispersant decreased the viscosity of CWS significantly with better fluidity. The apparent viscosityanalysis showed that the involvement of dispersant met the national standard. With the shear rate of100s-1, apparent viscosity was under1000mPa·s (minimum554mPa·s). It can be seen that the dispersant had a good dispersion effect on theCWS.Finally, the CWS dispersants of humic acid/IA/AA/AMPS were produced. The property of compound, PH value, grinding time, and amount of dispersantwere taken into accounts as well. When the proportion of humic acid and/IA/AA/AMPS was2:1, the amount of dispersant was0.8%, and the pH valuewas8.5. After30mins grinding, the stability and fluidity of CWS reached itsbest situation under the concentration rate of70%. Under the best technologicaland usage circumstance, the apparent viscosity was535mPa·s, and the sTab. timewas more than30days, while the Zata met28.6mV.The result showed that CWS could be made from the compound dispersantwhich was similar to dispersant on the market. It can meet the industryrequirement with low cost.In conclusion, this paper conducted a series of research on the preparation, characteristics, and application of CWS of humic acid/IA/AA/AMPS. Therelationship between molecular structure and dispersion was defined. Theapplication effect and mechanism of CWS were revealed. This study possessedguiding meaning both theoretically and practically.
