The duplicate of ancient books and painting requires close simulation, harmlessand durable. The duplicates are generally used for scientific research, library, personalcollection, popular science exhibition. If we use ordinary commercial printing ink, notonly would the duplicates have pungent smell, but the printing ink cannot meet therequirement of durable and close simulation.Antique water based ink is a kind of environmental ink that prepared by pinesoot, lampblack, hyperfine lampblack as pigment, bone glue as binder materials, which areprepared by Chinese traditional ancient method. Chinese medicine solution is usedas additive, which is antibacterial and mildewproof. Besides, it can also bring inksweet smell and gather color of ink. The prepared antique water based ink is used forduplicating ancient books and painting accurately. In the present research, the formula of antique water based ink and preparationtechnology were determined by experiments. The formula of antique water based inkis (Wt %): binder solution 80, pigment 15, Chinese medicine additives 5. The massratio of bone glue to water is 51:49 in binder materials. The binder solution isprepared at 110℃f or 8 hours. All of the components are mixed uniformly, thandispersed at high speed and ground until the fineness is less than 15μm. The color ofantique water based ink can be adjusted similar to the ink color of the original book. The ink smells fragrant. The product specification of the antique water based ink wasissued. Environmental indicators of antique water based ink were analyzed. Thecontent of volatile organic compounds(VOC) of the prepared ink is 3.2Wt%, which ismuch lower than that of content of VOC of the water based ink for flexographicprinting and that of environmental soy ink. Respectively, the content of the VOC inthe former is about 8Wt% and about 10Wt% in the latter ink. Benzene series were notdetected. Free formaldehyde content was 50mg/kg, lower than the limited value100mg/kg in the National Standard GB/T 18582-2008. Soluble heavy metal content ofthe prepared antique water based ink is Cr 6.84 mg/kg, others such as Pb, Cd and Hg are not detected. The sum of the heavy metal content is lower than the limited value100mg/kg in the National Standard GB/T 18582-2008.The average content of heavymetal in antique water based ink is 1.71Wt%, and which is lower than 7 Wt%, theheavy metal content of the water based ink for flexographic printing. Antique waterbased ink has been used for duplicating the Tripitaka book sample by screen printingon Xuan papers and the ink has good printability. The printed sample is durabe. Thereasons are: (1)The pigment prepared by old method is nanometer particles, and it hashigh surface energy. (2)The key component of pigment is carbon and the carbon itselfhas good lightproof and chemical stability. (3) Gelatine and bone glue molecule iseasy to permeate gaps of Xuan paper fiber due to its suitable size, which is helpful toimprove adhesive force. (4)Traditional Chinese medicine solution additive makes theprinted sample has good bacterial resistance and mildew resistance. The durability aresupported by the following test results. The color difference after soaked the printedsample in water and alcohol 72 hours respectively is less than 0.5. The antibacterialratio is 99% and the mildewproof level is zero, lightfastness level ranks 7. Theduplicate of ancient books, painting and calligraphy art can meet the requirements ofclose simulation, harmless and durable. |
