polydentate ligand which point to contain two or more coordination atoms can with the same center of atoms form two or more coordination bond. This subject through the spontaneous self-assembly method based on Schiff reaction design and synthesis six polydentate ligands, these multi-ligand and transition metal salts reaction generated five novel structure of the complexes, four of which Mononuclear complexes, a Polynuclear Complex and characterized by X-ray diffraction technique. Additionally, we also introduced the application of polydentate ligand - the quinoline fluorescent chemical sensors. In the process of synthesis complexes, the self-assembly process of coordination polymers is greatly influenced by various factors .we discussed the factors of assembly of coordination polymers such as the property and coordination requirement of metal ions, the property and structure of polydentate ligands, the ratio between metal ions and ligands, the selection of solvent and reaction conditions. One or several of these factors joined can greatly effect the construction of complex structure. So it is still to be explored to construct coordination polymers with predictable structure. This subject is beginning with 4-phenylhydrazine and benzenepyridon e,2-pyridine aldehyde, quinoline aldehydes synthesized three tridentate ligands L1, L2 and quinoline-based fluorescence chemical sensor. The L1 and L2 reacted with transition metal salts respectively, for example cobalt salts, synthesis of mononuclear complexes 1 and 2.Then Synthesis of polynuclear complexes was conceived, first with methylmalonate and methylethyl benzene and Methyl malonate design and synthesis of the two arms pyridone double tridentate ligand L3 and L4, L3, and L4 will reaction with the transition metal salt, for example to ferrous salt which have two mononuclear complexes has not been the target-polynuclear complexes of benzene-pyridone may be due to steric hindrance on the role of the benzene ring changes assembly of the complex. Improved experiment: using 2-pyridine aldehydes with methyl ethyl malonate by double-tridentate ligand L5, L5 ligand reaction with the nickel salt of the polynuclear complexes-to achieve the desired goals.
