Turning-milling machining center is a comprehensive processing technology whichhas brilliant prospect. Spindle torque motor of dual winding is the main function parts ofthe spindle system in turning-milling machining center. An advance on the technologies ofthe turning-milling spindle torque motor of dual winding generates the decrease on thesocially necessary labors-time gradually. At the same time, the profit space of products hasbecome larger and larger. The direct combination of main spindle and electric machineeliminates the parts of mechanical linkage, as a result, which imcrease the power transferrate, realize the stable process. It is very important to achieve the combined machiningbetween turning process and milling process.In the situation of turning-milling machining center, motor design of spindle mustmeet the conditions of both turning process and milling process. Spindle torque motor muststop rotate when turning and milling cutters switch. Consequently, there is enough switchtime interval. The speed of spindle torque motor is different. And torque is much biggerunder low speed than high speed. Considering low speed high torque under milling processand high speed low torque under turning process, double winding of the stator is proposedin this paper. The stator winding has two mode of YY and Y. The YY mode is adoptedwhen in the turning process. The Y mode is adopted is adopted when in the milling process.This motor also adopts frequency control.Turning-milling machining center requires low torque ripple and high torque density.Based on the designer’s experience and the spindle motor occasions, determine thedesigning of the spindle motor parameters. Complete a comprehensive simulation programdesigned for electric and magnetic circuits. The spindle motor applies the inner rotorstructure. Surface structure of magnet is adopted. Stator and rotor using water coolingstructure. Stator is 48 slots, pole of the rotor is four pairs.
