Bimodal Polyethylene is the Polyethylene whose molecular weight show up as bimodal distribution, the low part of the molecular weight provide superior Machinability, the high part of the molecular weight provide superior mechanical property.The special structure make the bimodal polyethylene has high strength and high toughness,associate with a good property of environmental stress crack resistance. Bimodal Polyethylene is the main material in producing piping, which has a wide range of applications in life and industry.The Hostalens’s slurry process of the production of high density polyethylene bimodal polyethylene is the world-leading technology; it uses two reactors in series to act slurry polymerization. Advanced prodution techniques make it possible to produce high performance piping resin.This paper is against the background of Hostalens’s low pressure slurry process to exploit dedicated resin GS100S for PE100piping. This paper put up systematic analyses on the productive technology, meanwhile, it analyses some important indexes in production performance and summarises the trial production process. We optimize productive technology and compare production performance with past. We investigate into three species of resin about crystallization temperature, SSA result, chip classification, dynamic rheological analysis, and isothermal recrystalization. The production is as good as foreign similar production and is better than domestic production.We can get the result from raw material base performance analysis that the MFR, density, tensile yield strength, tensile elongation at break, moisture, OIT of GS100S can all reach the request of PE100; GS100S have excellent physical and mechanical properties.The piping performance evaluation result shows that the main performance (longitudinal retraction rate, gradient of MFR, LTHS, resistance to slow crack growth, rapid expansion crack resistance, instant blasting) of PE piping which is made of GS100S meet the PE100piping related standard requirements, thereinto, the experiment result of LTHS(80℃,5.4MPa) and resistance to slow crack growth(80℃,0.92MPa) is stable for one thousand hours, which is better than PE100piping related standard requirements.GC100S is welcomed by users after entering market; it has achieved good economic and social benefits and is a successful PE100piping material.
