Machining center (MC) is the dominant equipment in modern mechanical manufacturing industry. Its reliability is the key of market competition. The previous reliability analysis for MC mostly focuses on the intensity or lifetime reliability. But the research of mechanism movement or action reliability is less. In this paper, the object of study is a five-axis turning-milling center. The kinematics precision reliability of MC is analyzed. So it provides a basis for improvement of MC’s reliability. The main researches in this paper are organized as follows:After analyzing the structure of five-axis turning-milling center, according to the robot kinematics theory, D-H coordinate of MC is established. The kinematics equation is got by coordinate transformation. The solution of kinematics equation is calculated. The effect of kinematics parameters’error on MC’s reliability is initially determined. The suitable accuracy class of each kinematics parameter is found. So the error that has no effect on reliability is removed.Based on the solution of MC’s kinematics equation, the MC’s workspace is solved using Monte Carlo method and exhaustive search method. Meanwhile, it is illustrated by point cloud. In order to discuss the reliability in different work condition is different, the precision workspace is presented. At the same time, the precision workspace of MC is solved. So the points which satisfy the reliability request or not are got.The sensitivity of reliability for MC is analyzed using analytical method. The MC’s kinematics model is established using ADAMS. In order to research the reliability, the model is parameterized. The geometrical model, movement, gap and input displacement is parameterized. The MC is simulated in ADAMS using simulation program. After that, the results which include figure results and data results are exported. The kinematics precision reliability of MC is got by analyzing the data results.
