As a key component of an air-jet loom, auxiliary nozzles charge with the significant task of the weft insertion; while the air consumption of the auxiliary nozzle accounted for about75%of the whole air consumption during the weft insertion. Therefore, in order to improve productivity and reduce energy consumption, the study of the flow field characteristics of the auxiliary nozzle is very significant. In chapter one, the course of the weft insertion of auxiliary nozzle, the structure of auxiliary nozzle, the characteristics of the airflow used by weft insertion and the significace of its research are discussed. In chapter two, the principle of hydrokinetics is used to establish the numerical model of flow field in weft insertion of auxiliary nozzle of an air-jet loom, and the geometrical model of the flow field of the auxiliary nozzle is estalished. In chapter three, the software Fluent is used to simulate the geometrical model which is estalished by chapter two. Compared to the simulation results with the test results, the feasibility of this method which uses the Fluent to simulate the flow field in weft insetion of auxiliary nozzle of an air-jet loom is validated. In chapter four, Fluent is used to simulate the geometrical models of different nozzle shape, and the optical model under different supply pressures are obtained through the comparative analysis. In chapter five, Fluent is used to analisis the impacts of the changes of the four stucture parametes, the entrance diameter, the jet angle, the length of the transition zone, and the nozzle diameter. Based on this, the orthogonal pilot programs are designed and simulated. At last, a groupe of structure parameters has been obtained through the comparative analysis of the simulation results.
