P(VDF-TrFE) has been already used in a broad range of technological applications(sensors, organic non-volatile storage, ferroelectric field effect transistor et al)asfunctional material because it exhibits excellent ferroelectric properties. With increasingdemand for miniaturization in functional devices, it is becoming urgently important tostudy the behavior and properties of ferroelectric polymer P(VDF-TrFE). Recently, therehas been a lot of studies on the one-dimensional confined behavior of P(VDF-TrFE), butthe crystallization, morphology, and ferroelectric properties under two-dimensionalconfinements are rarely reported.Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template with highly ordered nanometer-sized holesis easy to prepare for mass production and widely used as the template for the synthesisof nanomaterials.In this paper, P(VDF-TrFE) nanowires were synthesized in AAO templates, and thecrystallization, morphology, and ferroelectric properties in the single nanowire wereinvestigated.In the first chapter, we introduced the development of P(VDF-TrFE) polymer, itsstructural properties and applications. Later, we give a brief talk on the history of theAAO template.In the second chapter, we demonstrate the preparation of AAO templates. Withappropriate oxidation process, we successfully prepared high quality AAO templates insulfuric acid and oxalic acid solution. We also analysised the impact of experimentalparameters on the AAO structure.In the third chapter, P(VDF-TrFE) nanowires were synthesized in AAO templates.The morphology was characterized by SEM. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmissionelectron microscope (TEM) was also used to examine the crystallinity.We found nanowires exhibited preferential orientation.In chapter four, Single nanowire morphology and ferroelectric properties weretested by atomic force microscopy (AFM) in tapping mode and the piezoelectric mode.Nanowires exhibited different properties because of the nano-confinement effects.At the end of this paper, we give a short conclusion for the work and the goal of futureresearch.
