The crudeextract were separated and fractionated by Polyamide and Sephadex LH-20column and thestructures of the main compounds were identified by modern technologies. And evalution thefunction of the crude extract, such as antioxidant properties and α-Amylase activities inhibition.The main results were shown as follows:1. A methed of ultrasonic-assisted extraction polyphenols of Rumex seeds were establishedby orthogonal experiment. The optimum condition was70%ethanol in60min at80℃and Solidto liquid ratio l:16. The content of polyphenols was5.59%2. The scavenging capacities of ployphenols of Rumex seeds on l,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, superoxide and hydroxyl free radicals were investigated.The results showed thatployphenols of Rumex seeds had good effeets on seavenging free radicals. The results showedthat when the polyphenols concentration is10μg/mlã€100μg/ml and500μg/ml,the rate ofscavenging DPPHã€O2-·ã€Â·OH was73.42%ã€27.59ï¼…and80.82ï¼….3.)The effeets of ployphenols of Rumex seeds on amylase were investigated with thepercent inhibition of α-amylase as index. PloyPhenols of Rumex seeds showed inhibitoryactivity on amylase. The results showed that the crude polyphenols from Rumex seeds iscompetitive which belongs to reversible inhibition, inhibitory rate to α-amylase of polyphenolswhose concentration is6ug/ml were90.41ï¼….4. The chemical constituents of the seed of Rumex patientia L.have been protestedsystematically by means of GC-MS. Four compounds were isolated from the alcoholextract.Their structures were indentified as4-Hydroxybenzoic acidã€3,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acidã€gallic acid and catechin.5. The extract could be isolated and purified by Polyamide and Sephadex LH-20.
