The equipment manufacturing industry is the foundation of the national economy,and machine tool is essential to the manufacturing production, It is also important tomodernization of manufacturing technology and equipment.With the rising of greenmanufacturing, the design of the machine tool is gradually to the lightweightdevelopment, can reduce materials and save energy under the premise of the machinetool’s dynamic and static performance.column is the main pillar and bearing structureof machining center,its own quality is greatly.The lightweight design of Columnstructure can significantly reduce the quality of the machine tool,and improve the it’sperformance, and reduce manufacturing cost, It’s also important for energy saving andenvironmental protection and so on.This papers on the lightweight design for high-speed horizontal machiningcenter of column which combining with the national major projects.Obtains theresearch achievements as follows:(1)Discusses the high speed horizontal machining center at home and abroad andthe research status of lightweight, summarizes the development trend on thelightweight design of machine tools and compared the differences and simila ritieswith foreign research, put forward on the lightweight design of the high-speedhorizontal machining center which based on the specific conditions.(2)Done the dynamic and static analysis of column structure and pillar thevalidity of the model through the modal test.Based on all above,put forward thedynamic and static performance indicators which column structure optimization needto meet.(3)Using sensitivity analysis on the size optimization design.Determined thepillar of the optimal structure size after sensitivity analysis of optimized size andobjective function.The optimization results show that the new column weight isreduced8.7%.(4)The lightweighting design of column structural based on the topologyoptimization.Firstly, To established the pillar structural topology optimizationmathematical model as the condition of volume and first5naturalfrequency.secondly,Through the iterative calculation and got the cloud densitypictures which used to guide optimizing.Finally, Done manufacture process of the optimum result and finite element analysis.The results show that the new columnweight is dropped16.2%to the original structure on the basis of the structure of thestatic and dynamic performanceis unchanged.The lightweight effect is obvious.Through the high speed horizontal machining center lightweight research,thisarticle provides the certain theory and practical basis for our country the machine toollightweight technology.It’s also play a certain role to the whole machine tool industryof the light-duty and energy conservation.
