With the repaid development of economy, solid wastes production is increasing quickly. Oily sludge which belongs to the<Directory of National Hazardous Waste> is one of the most important apartments of hazardous solid wastes. If oily sludge direct discharge into the environment without reasonable treatment, it is not only harmful to the surrounding environment, animal and plant health, but also is a waste of resources. So, it’s urgent to treat oil sludge harmlessly and economically.First, the paper briefly introduces several methods for handling oily sludge, and describes several principles and process of treatment. In order to obtain the advantages and disadvantages of every treatment, this paper compares the traditional treatments to new treatments.Secondly, methods for analyzing components of oil sludge were explored. The conclusions are:using the Karl-Fischer water determination can get the accurately water rate. The oil rate can be got by extraction. The way of subtraction can be used to draw the residue rate on the basic of the correct data of oil rate and the rate of water.Thirdly, this paper analysis several ultrasonic treatment of oil sludge, for example, ultrasonic assisted extraction and ultrasonic assisted hot water technology. The results showed that:Ultrasound has obvious promoting role in the traditional extraction process and the hot water process. Under the effect of ultrasound, the capacity of extraction has been strengthened greatly and the processing time has been shortened. The oil rate was about97%after extraction. The effect of ultrasound in the hot water cleaning process was that can increase the activity of surfactants and thermal motion of molecules, oil sludge and cleaning agents has a better access. In texting, the oil content was about98.8%.Finally, the experiment of supercritical fluid extraction of oily sludge was studied. This experiment used carbon dioxide as an extraction agent, and added different types of chemical additives in the oily sludge. The effect of different chemical agents to experimental results was analyzed. The results indicated that: chemical agents have an advantage effect to supercritical fluid extraction. When chose sodium carbonate as a chemical additive, the oil content was about93%.
