With the continuous development and expansion of China’s cement industry all over the world, Cement production has been ranking high in the world. But comparing to the developed countries, the high energy consumption problems are ubiquity, so how to reduce the energy consumption of cement produce has been attracted more attention. Starting from the instance of Guangxi Yufeng Cement Co., Ltd.2500t·d-1new dry process cement production line, in allusion to the problem of high energy consumption and general output, the internal laws of the specification heat consumption of clinker and the production control parameters were analyzed by the grey theory, the inadequacies of the system were explored, including raw control index materials and fuel control index, the clinker burning control indicators and clinker quality control indicators; the optimization scenario was proposed, the best potential of the system was mined by industry practice, in order to reduce clinker production energy consumption and improve production of kiln system, and through thermal audit to evaluate and verify the optimum results. The conclusions of this study are summarized as follows:(1)Analyzed the production line operation status and operating conditions of the Guangxi Yufeng Cement Co., Ltd.2500t·d-1new dry process cement production line, the results show that the pyroprocess system for clinker production has reached the designed capacity, but the specification heat consumption of clinker is high and the clinker quality control is unstable.(2)The correlation between the specification heat consumption of clinker and production process parameters is analyzed by Grey Relational, the degree of relation is high.(3) The multi-variable grey prediction model was established. predictive value of the clinker’s heat consumption which based on the every process parameters and model has better fitting accuracy, and this makes up the shortcoming of low correlation coefficient of the regression analysis.(4) The internal laws of the specification heat consumption of clinker and the production control parameters were analyzed by the grey prediction model. And some aspects in the production process control were explored. From raw materials perspective, need to strictly control the raw meal and coal fineness, improve coal quality, appropriately adjust batching plan of clinker ingredients, SM and IM,reduced and increased0.1on the original basis, respectively; From the aspects of firing control, use the method of thin material fast firing, improve the ventilation of the kiln, reduce the valve opening of the tertiary air and make do a reasonable match among of the wind, coal and, materials; and reduce the gas temperature of preheater); From the aspects of clinker quality control indicators, in order to ensure the quality of the clinker production and reduce the heat consumption of clinker, the content of f-CaO and liter weight need to be strictly controlled to prevent the clinker overburning.(5) Through industry practice and optimization, the specification heat consumption of clinker decreased about7.36%and the clinker production capacity (tpd) increased about22%, meanwhile, taking advantage of the thermal audit for further validation and evaluation of production operation condition, the results show that after optimization, comparing with the kiln of the same type, the production capacity achieve a more advanced level nationally. This suggests that the grey theory has an important guiding significance to the optimization and transformation of the production line.Through the industry practice and optimization of Guangxi Yufeng Cement Co., Ltd.2500t·d-1new dry process cement production line, the production line capacity has been effectively improved and the production operation condition has met to the advanced level in domestic, also provide a useful reference for the optimization and transformation of other dry process cement production system.
