At present, the main production process of aluminate cement clinker is ordinary dry kilns in China, not only low yield and high heat consumption. Obviously, the existing aluminate cement production technology is seriously departure from the national energy saving policy. In this paper, the physical and chemical properties of aluminate cement and portland cement raw were comparatively studied by the methods of experimental and theoretical calculations to explore the adaptability of suspension preheater kiln production aluminate cement clinker, and all of this will provide a theoretical basis for updating the backward aluminate cement clinker process.In this thesis, two kinds of cement raw from industrial production lines were detected by X-ray fluorescence analysis, laser particle size analyzer, etc general detecting methods, that:①The Al2O3of aluminate cement raw is the Al2O3of portland cement raw10.95times, and the CaO of aluminate cement raw is the CaO of portland cement raw0.66times;②Aluminate cement raw particles are smaller and more uniform than portland cement raw particles.The thermal decomposition characteristics of the two cement raw and units of cement clinker heat consumption were researched and calculated in this paper by thermal analysis, the theoretical calculation methods. The results show that:①The thermal decomposition characteristics of the two cement raw are similar before900℃, so aluminate cement clinker can be produced by the suspension preheater kiln;②The heat consumption would be able to reduce by28.5~30.9%。 with the suspension preheater kiln production aluminate cement clinker. The thermal analysis data10K/min of the two kinds of cement raw were prossed by the Coats-Redfern integral method, that:①Diaspore is in according with the random nucleation and then growth mechanism, and limestone is in according with the shrinking cylinder mechanism with surface reaction rate controlling;②Aluminate cement raw is easier to decompose than the portland cement raw.The two kinds of cement raw were calcined by high temperature physical determinator and electric furnace, then their sintering properties based on the ternary phase diagram CaO-Al2O3-SiO2are researched. The results show that:①Aluminate cement raw’s sintering range is about1360~1410℃;②Aluminate cement raw’s temperature of emergence liquid is higher than the portland cement raw’s;③Aluminate cement raw’s sintering range is narrower about100℃than portland cement raw’s.The technology of reduction sulfur about unit aluminate cement clinker is analysed by theoretical calculation method. The results show that:When kiln ash would not be feeded into kiln, the ordinary dry kilns production aluminate cement clinker’s sulfur is reduced about40.63%; If the suspension preheater kiln produce aluminate cement clinker, the clinker’s sulfur is reduced at least about82.18%.According to the mature experience of production Portland cement clinker with suspension preheater kiln and the comparative study on the two kinds of cement raw’s physical and chemical properties, it is feasible to choose five-stages suspension preheater kiln for producting aluminate cement clinker. The technical parameters of kiln tail system with suspension preheater kiln production aluminate cement clinker are put forward in this paper, and the various parts’ size of the five suspension preheater system are obtained by engineering calculations.
