Porphyrin compounds exist in a wide range of organisms, which has attracted attention extensively due to its unique structure and perfect photosensitive properties. As photosensitizer, porphyrin compounds can be used not only to modify semiconductor materials to prepare composite photocatalyst, but also can be used to diagnose or treat cancer in medicine.Hence, we synthesized six kinds of free porphyrins containing imidazole functional group(4a-4c、5a-5c) and corresponding three copper porphyrins(6a-6c) with porphyrins5a-5c. All the synthesed compounds were characterized by Elemental Analyses, FT-IR, UV-vis, MS, and1H-NMR etc.Three copper porphyrin-TiO2composite photocatalysts (6a-TiO2、6b-TiO2、6c-TiO2) were also prepared and characterized by SEM, HR-TEM, EDS spectroscopy, UV-vis Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) etc, the photocatalytic efficiency of copper porphyrin-TiO2photocatalysts were tested by the experiments of photocatalytic degradation of4-NP in aqueous solution under different conditions, the results showed that porphyrin-TiO2composite photocatalysts can effectively degrade4-NP under UV-vis light irradiation and UV light irradiation, Moreover, the longer side-chains of porphyrins were, the less efficiency of photocatalytic was; when irradiated with visible light, the porphyrin-Ti02composite photocatalyst can efficiently photodegrade4-NP in the presence of appropriate concentration of H2O2, in addition, it was found that the degradation of4-NP mainly depended on hydroxyl radicals(·OH) in this process.The anticancer properties against A431cells in vitro and ability of singlet oxygen production of free porphyrins(4a-4c、5a-5c)were tested. The results suggested that the photosensitizers have a greater toxicity against A431cells than against normal cells in the dark and tocytotoxicity was improved further after irradiated by light, moreover, the ability of killing cancer cells was accordance with the ability of singlet oxygen production, both of the them were improved as side-chain lengths of our compounds increased, when the concentration of porphyrins increased and the irradiation time prolonged, the anti-tumor activity also increased. Finally, the catalytic performance of free porphyrins(5a-5c) and three copper porphyrins (6a-6c) to Li/SOCl2battery were tested. The results showed that these several porphyrin compounds have ability to extend the discharge time of Li/SOCl2battery and the battery capacity has dramatically increased.
