Nanometer ZnO and nanometer SnO2show special and excellent physical-chemical performance of biological and chemical, optical, electrical and other aspects owing to small particle size, large specific surface area, obvious surface and interface effects of nanometer material. Study finds nanometer ZnO has excellent UV absorption, but a single material is not good enough when it is used. UV-shielding properties of nanometer SnO2have some, but much smaller than that of nanometer ZnO UV-shielding performance. Taking into account the outer electronic structure of Zn2+and Sn4+are all full of3d10, we try to find a way to improve the insufficient performance of a single material UV absorption through nanometer SnO2coated with nanometer ZnO because electronic interaction by interface layer of coating will be increased. The composite material coated has fine performance of inorganic UV-protective agents, and has better performance than single inorganic UV-protective agent. Therefore, a lot of research has been focus on its preparation and application. Research of corresponding results have been achieved at home and abroad, and preparation methods have been reported simply. But the study of nanometer tin dioxide coated with nanometer zinc oxide as UV-shielding material has not been reported, so we first proposed nanometer tin dioxide coated with nanometer zinc oxide as UV-shielding material. Through various research, we explored three preparation ways of nanometer tin dioxide coated with nanometer zinc oxide which is simple and economical, and environmentally friendly, and study its UV-shielding performance. This paper first take zinc chloride, six hydrated zinc nitrate and five hydrated tin tetrachloride as raw material by homogeneous precipitation method, with urea as precipitating agent, and best synthesis process conditions have been researched where nanometer tin dioxide coated with nanometer zinc oxide has excellent UV-shielding performance. The conditions are3.5:1mole ratio of Zn2+and Sn4+, Zn2+from six hydrated zinc nitrate, surfactant for12alkyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium and quality grade of4.5per cent of final composite oxide,24:1mole ratio of urea and Zn2+, reaction at80℃for2hours, reaction at90℃for2hours, being dried at80℃for12hours, being calcined at400℃for2hours. And then taking six hydration zinc nitrate and five hydrated tin tetrachloride as raw material by homogeneous precipitation-direct precipitation method, with ammonium carbonate and urea as precipitating agent, best synthesis process conditions have been researched where nanometer tin dioxide coated with nanometer zinc oxide has excellent UV-shielding performance. The conditions are3.5:1mole ratio of Zn2+and Sn4+, surfactant for12alkyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium and quality grade of4.5per cent of final composite oxide,43:1mole ratio of urea and Sn4+,2:1mole ratio of ammonium carbonate and Zn2+, reaction at80℃for2hours, reaction at50℃till the precipitant is dropped out, being dried at80℃for12hours, being calcined at400℃for2hours. Last taking six hydration zinc nitrate and five hydrated tin tetrachloride as raw material by homogeneous precipitation-Water heat and dehydration method, with urea as precipitating agent, best synthesis process conditions have been researched where nanometer tin dioxide coated with nanometer zinc oxide has excellent UV-shielding performance. The conditions are3.5:1mole ratio Zn2+and Sn4+, surfactants for12alkyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium and quality grade of4.5per cent of final composite oxide,24:1mole ratio of urea and Zn2+, reaction at80℃for2hours, reaction at90℃for2hours, being water heat and dehydration at150℃for5hours. We characterize the samples with X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscopes and EDS, and study the ultraviolet absorption of the samples with ultraviolet spectrometer.
