The whole experimental process using hydrophilic nano-SiO2and Ti(OC4H9)4as the main raw materials.Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalyst are successfully prepared by supporting Ti(OC4H9)4on the surface of modified nano-SiO2and used for the synthesis of PTT.Hydrophilic nano-SiO2are modified with titanate coupling agent (TMC-201) under ultrasonic dispersion. Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalysts are successfully prepared by supporting Ti(OC4H9)4on the surface of modified nano-SiO2particles via impregnation method.The impact of titanate coupling agent, modification temperature, modification time on the surface modification of hydrophilic nano-SiO2are studied.After modification, the impact of Ti(OC4H9)4, supported temperature, supported time on loading the hydrophilic nano-SiO2particles with Ti(OC4H9)4are investigated.The results indicate that the titanate coupling agent is fully grafted on nano-SiO2when the using of TMC-201is35wt%, modification temperature is90℃, modification time is5h. These Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalysts are the best when the using of Ti(OC4H9)4is50wt%of modified nano-SiO2, supported time is48h at room temperature.The modified nano-SiO2and Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalysts are characterized by ICP-AES and FESEM. The SEM images show that These Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalysts have a good monodisperity with diameter from40nm to50nm.Using the optimized catalysts to synthesize PTT with terephthalic acid (PTA) and1,3-propanediol (PDO) by direct esterification process route. The influences of different catalyst types and catalyst dosage on the synthesis of PTT polyester are found out in detail. Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalysts are compared with traditional titanium catalyst and tin catalysts in the activity of the catalyst, the viscosity of the product characteristics, mechanical properties.The results show that the Ti(OC4H9)4/nano-SiO2catalysts exhibit more excellent catalytic activity than others.
