| It is a tendancy to advanced treatment of urban sewage, and it is essential to develop an economic, advanced treatment of urban sewage process. Because biological activated carbon (BAC) has a better treatment effect, bear high load, and the effluent water quality good, actual effect stable, equipment cover small area, convenient modular operation. BAC enjoys the advantage coarse surface, internal porous structure, fully adsorption dissolved oxygen, and they are conductive to give play nitrification of biological activated carbon. BAC has a bright foreground in small and middle advance wastewater urban sewage projects and has a wide application prospect. Through the experiment of effluent was treated by A2/O of activated sludge in Jinan Guang Da Wastewater Treatment Plant, research carried on the effect of treatment, running parameter and mechanism of BAC.When downflow running of the empty bed contact time (EBCT) is8.2min and used rough porous activated carbon, BAC could incubate biofilm easily. The success of incubating biofilm criterion is the stable removal rate of NH3-N and COD. The complete incubate biofilm time is two weeks. Compared to downflow running, the upflow running boasts of uniformity of distribution of wastewater and air, short empty bed contact time and long interval of backwash. Compared to upflow running, the downflow running, gas-water ratio (GWR) demands less, and when dissolved oxygen (DO) is4mg/L, the removal of NH3-N is high. Since the influent COD, BOD/COD and the EBCT are low, BAC doesn’t show a good performance to remove COD. Compared to1.5mm size of activated carbon, the particle size of3.5mm has more effectively removal to SS and short interval of backwash.The result of the test show that:BAC is a kind of economic reliable wastewater treatment process, and it can make the final effluent water accord with Ⅳ class of The surface water environment quality standards, or even close to Ⅲ class of water standard. |
