The braking stability and reliability of the underground load-haul-dump vehicle (LHD) driving in a gallery are vital to the coal mine safety. As the situation is complicated the braking stability and reliability of the Underground LHD becomes a critical point for the design of the underground LHD. At present, the domestic2cubic scraper widely are adopted of LCB braking system, and the brake system has been in bad environment, the water and mud are easily stick to the brake disc, causing the braking effect is bad and inconvenient repair. This paper proposed the posistop braking system’s application in2cubic scrapers and researched the braking performance at the first time. The main contents of this dissertation are as follows.(1).The current developments, research trend and problems in designing and producing LHD in our country were accurately summarized and systematically expounded.(2).This paper presented the structure and working principle of the LCB brake system and the PosiStop brake system, respectively. Through the brake efficiency of the two brake system were analyzed and compared, the2cubic scrapers with the PosiStop brake system was rebuild.(3). In this paper, the brake requirements of LHD were proposed, and the brake torque under different conditions were calculated. According to the brake torque, the brake system was designed and the main components such as accumulator, charge valve and hydraulic pump of the hydraulic system were selected.(4).According to the character of Simulink software, the model of the hydraulic pump, foot valve, hydraulic cylinder and spring were established, and the model were assembled into the system simulation model, based on the simulation analysis of the model, obtained the hydraulic pump outlet pressure, the piston cylinder pressure, displacement of the spring and the piston cylinder volume change curve in the process of brake.(5). The bond graph model of the accumulator were established, the hydraulic cylinder, the compression spring and the friction, the start and brake process of the scraper were simulated, and the results show that the system has good braking performance.(6).The brake performance of the improved TCY-2HL underground LHD was studied by experiment, the results show that, in the initial braking speed was20kilometers per hour, the system braking acceleration was7.32rice every square seconds, the braking distance was2.85meters, meet the braking requirements of underground scraper.
