As people‘s living standard continues to rise, they are paying ever greaterattention to the quality of life and emotional satisfaction. People’s consumption hasnot only stay in the use value of the objects,but also focuses on the symbolic value ofobjects, such as emotional sustenance, pleasure, social status. As the basic articles fordaily use in people’s domestic life, household products have a close relationship withthe quality of people’s life, so, it is necessary to provide emotional satisfaction andreal value for people. Under this background and premise, i put forward the AffinityDesign to solve that question. This article aims to make the household products full ofaffinity by affinity design, which people cannot resist. Then the household productswill become people’s life partners rich in motional and vitality, and it will help peopleto ease the pressure, to have a pleasure and sense of belonging in home life. At thesame time, the affinity design of household product will make the home space to keeprefreshing and Concise, adding the finishing touch to people’s elegant home life. Thenit will have a help for family to create an affinity atmosphere, which is "comfort isbetter, harmony is more beautiful”, so that people will feel the warmth of family.Firstly, the paper discusses the affinity theory and the affinity design theory, andthen we can draw a conclusion that the affinity design will make the product have anaffinity through channel expression, such as the modeling of product, the materials ofproduct, the color of product, the use of product, the emotion. Then the product willattract people to close because of the affinity, after closing the product people willhave a further understanding, then due to understanding, people will easily be movedby the product. Eventually it will lead to a harmonious and family interaction amongproducts, people, environmental and the social.Secondly, combinating the characteristics of the household products, the status ofthe household products and the reasons of introduction of affinity design, I deeplyanalysis the affinity elements of household products,the reflecting aspects of affinitydesign of household products, the principles of affinity design of household products,and constricting factors of affinity design of household products. And then Isummarize several strategies to be applied in the affinity design of householdproducts, such as focusing on the user’s sensual pleasure, paying attention to theextension of products content, arousing people’s emotional resonance, considering the use of space, paying attention to the service value, focus on the interactive experienceand application.Finally, selecting the fruit plate as the design object, analyzing the potentialneeds of the target users, then combined with the research and the proposed method todo design practice. Eventually it proved that the affinity design have a empiricalmeaning and value to exploitation of household products.
