Aerobic granules sludge is a microbial aggregates. Compared with conventionalbioflocs, aerobic granules have a high biomass retention, excellent settling ability, astrong capability to withstand shock loadings, and ability to treat high strengh organicwastewater. So it has a broad application prospect, but the stable operation of theaerobic granular sludge has become the bottleneck of restricting its application. In order to optimize the stability operation conditions of aerobic granular sludgein the sequencing batch airlift reactor (SBAR), the organic loading, sludge loadingand aeration were studyed by orthogonal tests, physicochemical properties, degradation performance and mechanism research of aerobic granular sludge underdifferent conditions were studyed. Coking wastewater was treated by the aerobicgranular sludge and floc activated sludge. Study the shock resistant ability of aerobicgranular sludge to coking wastewater of organic high concentrations of toxic waste. The operation conditions of aerobic granular sludge were studyed. The resultsshowed that the most important factor of aerobic granular sludge operation stability isorganic loading, aeration is second to organic loading, and sludge loading is last. Theoperating stability of aerobic granular sludge is best, when the condition is6kgCOD(m3.d) of organic loading,0.41m3/h of aeration rate,1.0kgCOD/(kgMLSS.d)of sludge loading. And particles broke apart faster under high organic loading, whilehigher aeration is easy to make the particles remain in good stability, sludge loadingwere not affected.Enzyme activity of the different conditions were finded out.Showed that higherorganic loading or lower aeration will influence urease, invertase, superoxidedismutase, polyphenol oxidase activity, thereby affecting pollutant removal andstructure stability of aerobic granular sludge.Coking wastewater was treated by aerobic granular sludge in membranebioreactor. Showed that the shock resistant ability of aerobic granular sludge to highconcentrations of toxic organic wastewater is stronger than that of the activated sludge, the average removal rate of phenol, COD, NH3-N, TP is99.80%,98.54%,94.46%,79.14%respectively. Compared with activated sludge floc, the membrane flux decayratio using aerobic granular sludge is smaller. This suggests that aerobic granularsludge can reduce membrane pollution and prolong the service life of membrane.
