On Substituting The Molybdenum Tailings For Grit To Produce Small-sized Concrete Building-blocks

With the globalization of industrial economy and the rapid development of world economy, the human beings began unprecedented exploitation of mineral resources. The countries around the world has greatly improved the exploitation and use of the mineral resources and carried out mountains of studies on how to make good use of tailings. Particularly, they achieved great success in applying the tailings to the buildings as materials of walls. However, they hardly ever made research on how to substitute the molybdenum tailings for grit to be used in the small concrete building-blocks.The thesis studies the main physical properties and radioactivity of the powders of the molybdenum tailings and puts forward proper alternative quantities of substituting the molybdenum tailings for grit to be used in the small-sized concrete building-blocks by mixing with grit whose grain diameter is more than0.63according to the fineness of the powder of the molybdenum tailings. The author gains the optimization of concrete proportion by the orthogonal test of three factors and three levels for the performance test of substituting the molybdenum tailings for grit to be used in the small-sized concrete building-blocks. Besides, the author studies the forming principle of strength and basic physical and mechanical properties of the building-blocks made of molybdenum tailings concrete. And finally, the author carries out the case-control study on the main mechanical properties of using molybdenum tailings for the production of small-sized concrete building-blocks.Laboratory evidence suggests that the main properties of the building-blocks made of molybdenum tailings concrete and the brickworks made of such building-blocks meet relative standards and can be applied to the engineering practice.
